Childbirth Preparation
This comprehensive childbirth education class is designed for parents who want a deeper understanding of how labor unfolds and how to actively participate in their birth experience.
Rather than simply covering the basics, this class gives you the time and space to explore the physical, emotional, and practical aspects of labor so you can approach birth feeling informed, prepared, and supported. This class includes time for discussion and hands-on practice.
In this class, you will learn:
- What happens in each phase and stage of labor
- When to go to the hospital or birth location and how to navigate early labor at home
- A deeper understanding of common medical interventions, including induction and epidurals, and how to make informed decisions if they arise
- Practical coping techniques for the intensity of labor, including breathing, movement, and positioning
- Hands-on comfort techniques partners can use to support labor progress
- How baby moves through the pelvis and how positioning can support that journey
- Strategies that may encourage a more efficient labor pattern
- How to create a flexible birth plan and communicate effectively with your care team
By the end of this class, you’ll have both the knowledge and the practical tools to approach labor with greater confidence, flexibility, and understanding.
We recommend taking this workshop anytime in your late second trimester or early to mid trimester before 36 weeks. Pricing is for 2 attendees.
Our approach is embodied. We don’t just talk about birth, we explore how the pelvis opens, how babies navigate labor, and how breath, movement, and nervous system regulation affect progress. Knowing what happens in labor is helpful. Knowing how to work with your body is transformative.
A lot. We spend significant time on biomechanics, positioning, pelvic floor awareness, and how movement supports different stages of labor. This is a core part of the PYC Method.
No. This class supports all birth paths, including epidurals, inductions, and cesareans. The goal is informed choice, adaptability, and confidence when plans change.
Partners are actively included. They learn how labor works, how to offer meaningful support, how to read what is happening in the room, and how to advocate alongside you. Many partners leave feeling more confident and less anxious because they understand their role.
