Baby & Me is a popular format for those post-partum but few teachers feel confident to teach it, due to its’ unpredictable nature. This workshop will give the pre/postnatal/kids teacher the tools to create a space where both babies and caregivers feel nurtured and supported. Participants in this workshop are eligible for Yoga Alliance Continuing Education credits.

Workshop will include:

  • Learn effective sequencing, songs, and baby touch.
  • Receive an overview of typical developmental movement and learn exercises and activities to encourage it.
  • Review appropriate poses for the post-partum student and learn how to maximize their time within class.
  • Learn appropriate pelvic floor and abdominal exercises to integrate into class.
  • Gain tools to facilitate bonding between baby and caregiver.
  • How to keep class moving while adults tend to babies’ needs.
  • Receive an overview of how lactation affects the body, and how you can nurture a space for all types of infant feeding.
  • How to help your students cultivate community.

About Caprice:

Born and raised in the Sonoran desert, Caprice has always been a natural mover. A classically trained dancer, Caprice committed to a yoga practice following a severe back injury in 2006. Now, with more than a decade of teaching experience, Caprice specializes in pre- and postnatal yoga, yoga for the pelvic floor, and yoga for children.

Following the birth of her nephew in 2010, Caprice became fascinated with the biology of pregnancy and wanted a way to support students in the journey into parenthood. She moved to New York to study at the Prenatal Yoga Center, where she now co-leads Teacher Trainings and directs Continuing Education and Mentorship. In search of more resources to serve her prenatal students, Caprice became a birth doula in early 2014. She has continued her studies with Leslie Howard, completing certification for Pelvic Floor Yoga. Additionally, Caprice is a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator and a soon-to-be Certified Breastfeeding Counselor.

Caprice has taught classes and led teacher trainings all over the world, in places like Greece, Bali, and Costa Rica. She has also taught special events for organizations like Microsoft, Eileen Fisher, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, and Wanderlust, and designed children’s yoga programs for a variety of diverse organizations. A graduate of Cornish College of the Arts, she now lives in Brooklyn with her husband and their cat, Josephine. For more information, visit www.sagecaprice.com.
