Corrine Byrne is an active musician based in New York City who has been heard within opera, oratorio, recital, and premiering contemporary works. She holds a master’s degree from Manhattan School of Music and is currently a Doctoral candidate at Stony Brook University. She co-founded the contemporary classical Tempus Continuum Ensemble, and tours with them as well as with Renaissance group Musica Humana and award winning jazz quintet West Side 5.
Corrine is dedicated to music education and musical exploration in young children. In 2011, Corrine toured the role of Queen of the Night in the Amato Opera in Brief outreach program which was brought into several NYC schools to teach children about opera. When she’s not on the operatic or concert stage, she’s accompanying herself on guitar and piano while teaching musical theater, chorus, songwriting and general music to children, specializing in self-expressive original musicals for pre-schoolers. She also brings bedside music – everything from pop to jazz standards – to patients in hospitals in all over the country with Musicians On Call. Corrine was a finalist for the 2012 Career Bridges Grant Awards.
